On Saturday, March 29, Old Plank Trail Community Bank held a “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” event at Laraway Lanes to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters program of Will-Grundy Counties.
The bank fundraised for over two months and encouraged the community to get involved. All proceeds from the event are kept local and provide ongoing support for children to ensure child safety in the community. The event had a wonderful turnout with full lanes and continuous fundraising. Altogether, the event raised $12,600 between fundraising efforts, raffles, and a 50-50 split the pot raffle.
Big Brothers Big Sisters pairs up adult volunteers 18 and older with children ages 6-18, in communities throughout Will County, Grundy County, Kankakee County, and Iroquois County in Illinois. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. The support of this event means that more Bigs and Littles will be matched up and more lives will be impacted.
Old Plank Trail Community Bank would like to thank a few of our business sponsors that generously donated: Ron Beckstrom of Golden Rule Coins, Jeanine Reding of Homer Township Vision Center, and Lloyd Bisping of Bisping Construction.
"We would like to thank all who attended our Bowl for Kids’ Sake event,” said Paul Slade, Chairman & CEO, Old Plank Trail Community Bank. “The creative fund raising efforts and participation of our generous partners, employees, and community members are greatly appreciated.”
